THE PLAN FOR THE FUTURE

The Plan for New Facilities

The Long Range Planning Committee realized that we must have the necessary facilities for parish life to thrive.  Despite our desire to retain our current campuses, the inadequacies of the locations of St Anne Church on Liberty Street and St Jude Church on Oakland Street are apparent.  There is not adequate room for future growth at either site.  The one hundred ninety-five acres we have purchased at Beckwood Road off Highway 521 allows for the growth of our Parish family far into the future.

New Church Site

Our architects have designed a master plan of parish development, with extensive input from the parish leadership and our parish community, that will be started in two phases. Phase I is composed of building two structures: a new church and the "Center of Faith Formation & Education" (CoFFE). The CoFFE will initially serve multiple purposes: all CCD and Religious Education functions, Parish Hall, as well as Elementary School (K-4 through 6th grade). Phase II will be composed of building the Family Life Center and a new Rectory, at which time the CoFFE will no longer be required to support Parish Hall functions.

Phase I

New Church

As a result of the unification of the St. Anne and St. Jude parishes, our parish serves almost 750 families. As our number of registered parishioners increases monthly, we need a larger worship space which will provide the spiritual home for us to celebrate the Eucharist and the sacramental life of our Faith.  The architectural planning committee has developed a plan for a church that will seat 600, with easy expansion to 800 by simply adding pews along the walls.  Expansion to 1200 or more will require new construction. The church will include stained glass windows from St. Anne, and other elements from both parishes that have iconic or historical value and significance.

While the east and west elevations are correct, the north and south elevations are longer than what is currently planned. See below for the updated floor plan of the Family Life Center. Center of Faith Formation & Education

The St. Anne School building, built in 1957 for CCD and school functions, will be replaced by the CoFFE. The Plan requires the sale of the St. Anne campus to partially finance both the new church and the CoFFE. When that occurs, the students of St. Anne School will need a new school. The CoFFE also serves as a Parish Hall and as a site for Religious Education (CCD, RCIA, etc.). Such duties will be shared with the Family Life Center after it is built in Phase II. The following links show the CoFFE elevations and floorplan.

Site Development

Phase I will include the church and CoFFE and all necessary infrastructure, such as roads, parking areas, water, lighting, power & sewer lines. Any infrastructure required by subsequent phases of development that are most cost-effective to be done at this time will also be done.

Phase II

Phase II is composed to two major building elements; The Family Life Center and the Rectory.

Family Life Center

FamilyLifeCenter

This multipurpose building will provide space for the daily chapel, parish offices, religious education and spiritual development programs, nursery facilities and room for community functions.  The facility will be welcoming, comfortable, and suitable for funeral luncheons and other social events.  The building will also house many of our parish offices including Pastor, Deacons, Secretaries, Business manager and other staff.

Rectory

Currently, our priests reside at the St Jude Rectory.  The residence is adequate for the time being. In Phase II it is our intention to build a new rectory on the new property, close to all the new facilities.
